WINNERS OF THE TWO NHS CLASS OF 1963 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2020
In 2020, we were pleased to award NHS Class of 1963 scholarships, each worth $2,300, to two well qualified seniors from the Class of 2020....... Olivia Buskey and Jacob Demers.
In selecting Olivia Buskey for one of this year’s NHS-1963 scholarships, we acknowledge and congratulate her for her involvement as a Salvation Army volunteer for 4 years, member of the Sign Language Club, the UNO Club and also as a long-time church volunteer. The staff at NHS South view Olivia as an incredibly hard working and caring young woman who always has a kind word for others and who is willing to step in and help wherever she can, taking the time to really talk with people, check in on them, and follow up with those who can use that extra connection. We believe Olivia to be a most deserving recipient of one of this year’s NHS Class of 1963 scholarships.
Olivia will be attending Nashua Community College and will major in Early Childhood Education. |
In selecting Jacob Demers for the 2nd of two NHS-1963 scholarships this year, we acknowledge and congratulate him for completing the 2-year CADD program at NHS South last year, culminating that experience with a gold medal win at the Skills USA career and technical student organization state competition, and a 17th place finish at the Skills USA national competition in architectural drafting. We believe Jacob to be a most deserving recipient of one of this year’s NHS Class of 1963 scholarships.
Jacob will be attending the Florida Institute of Technology and is pklanning to major in Ocean Engineering, and pursue a career in naval architecture following his studies. |
With this year's scholarships, the Nashua High School Class of 1963 has awarded a total of 16 scholarships since 2013 totaling over $24,000. Thanks to the generosity of those NHS 1963 classmates who have made donations to the Scholarship Endowment Fund, and the continued effort of the investment analysts at the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, we plan to continue to award NHS Class of 1963 Scholarships each and every year going forward, forever and ever.
