NASHUA TECHNOLOGY CENTER
The Nashua Technology Center is New Hampshire's largest high school Career and Technical Education center (CTE), enrolling students from several Nashua-area high schools, including Nashua High School North and South. The NTC has a 40-year history of helping students jumpstart their postsecondary plans by connecting them to technical and professional skills, career exploration opportunities, and college and industry credentials. The mission at the NTC is to empower all students with the knowledge and skills necessary for college and career success through innovative and hands-on learning experiences that aim to cultivate a diverse community of lifelong learners. Based in Nashua High Schools North and South, the NTC enrolls about 1,300 students in 16 career pathway programs, and a similarly large number in almost two dozen Tech Ed, FACS and Business CTE Discovery courses.
In early 2025, The NHS Class of 1963 decided to expand is "Giving Back to NHS" program to support the NTC by establishing a separate, new Vocational Education Fund dedicated to provding financial support to qualified, graduating seniors who have chosen to pursue vocational education leading to professional certification and/or professional licensing (versus the more traditional 2 or 4 year college or university programs). With donations made exclusively by members of the NHS Class of 1963, over one million dollars was raised during 2025 so that we could begin awarding meaningful scholarships to graduateing seniors starting with the Class of 2026. In summary, by establishing this new Fund, our NHS Class of 1963 has expanded its gift of financial support by targeting qualified, graduating seniors at NHS who have chosen to pursue vocational education leading to professional certification and/or licensing . And, we have also expanded this new program to include scholarships to students attending NHS South or NHS North.
WINNERS OF THE NHS CLASS OF 1963 VOCATIONAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 2026
On May 20, 2026, the first sixteen (16) Vocational Education scholarships sponsored by the NHS Class of 1963 were awarded to some incredibly ambitious and inspiring seniors at the first annual Career Technolgy Education (CTE) Scholarship and Honors Night.
16 scholarships sponsored by the NHS Class of 1963, were awarded in this first year, worth $47,774.
Our 16 NHS-1963 Scholarships were awarded to 4 students pursuing licensure as electricians, 3 scholarships to students pursuing certification in the culinary arts, 2 students desiring to become HVAC technicians, 3 students pursuing licensure as cosmetologists, 2 students seeking to become dental technicians, 1 student looking to become a nurse and 1 student seeking an associate degree in radiology. It was so nice to see how far "Shop and Home Ec" has progressed in the past 63 years !!! The Nashua Technology Center directed by Helayne Talbott and serving students of both NHS North and South is incredible --- certainly nothing like it was when we were in high school.
